Events – What’s on in Oswestry and the Borderlands of Shropshire and Wales.
Oswestry and the Borderlands of Shropshire and Wales have been described as “Fest Fabulous’, there are so many events on during the year- art, food, literature, music, drama – you choose.
Oswestry’s very own Food Festival must be mentioned, it takes place over a – hopefully – sunny weekend in July. in May the Whittington International Chamber Music is now firmly set in the calendar and each year celebrates a different composer or genre – 2018 will celebrate with a Fantasia of British Chamber Music. For a one day countryside extravaganza don’t miss Oswestry Show in August and for flowers galore choose between the renowned Shrewsbury Flower Show and the fragrant tSweet Pea Festival in Wem.
2018 will see many events commemorating the end of World War I and Oswestry will play its part remembering the short life of poet Wilfred Owen with a week long festival. One of the highlights will be the unveiling of a statue to him in the town park.
Don’t just take our word for it though, browse the calendars to see what’s on for when you plan your visit to Oswestry.
