“There is so much to see and do” say many of our visitors and we think that using Oswestry town as your base you will easily find that your whole holiday has whizzed past without a spare day. There are other wonders too, though, that may just tempt you to stay longer.
Shropshire is home to another Unesco World Heritage site – the 10 fascinating museums of Ironbridge and Telford’s famous bridge too. (Thomas Telford was a very busy man in the Borderlands!)
Ludlow is a must visit for food lovers and there are plenty of food festivals throughout the area to tempt your tastebuds.
Leaving Oswestry and heading into the Welsh Hills will take you on a marvellous journey down the original road from London to Holyhead (no motorways here, just a twisty windy road through wonderful Welsh scenery), keep going and you will be rewarded with the heights of Snowdonia or even the North Wales coast.
Chester with it’s black and white timbered shopping area is not so far and if you want mega-shopping then try Cheshire Oaks Outlet Centre. Chester is a good family day out too with Blue Planet Aquarium and Chester Zoo and river trips making a full family day.
Don’t forget to come back to Oswestry though – where Shropshire meets Wales.
