Events – What’s on in Oswestry and the Borderlands of Shropshire and Wales.
Oswestry and the Borderlands of Shropshire and Wales have been described as “Fest Fabulous’, there are so many events through the year. We say Oswestry is friendly, historic and surprising and that applies to our events too.
Free summer concerts in the park or a real theatre experience in the new Holroyd Theatre- the choice of events will surprise you.
Living history events at Whittington Castle and our heritage railways – that’s historic.
And friendly – has to be our fabulous, free Food and Drink Festival in July.
The return of the highly anticipated Hot Air Balloon Festival in August is a must see – with hot air balloons being launched from Oswestry’s town centre Cae Glas Park. Heritage Open Days in September sees the town step back in time to celebrate its history with a wide range of free activities for all to enjoy. For a one day countryside extravaganza don’t miss Oswestry Show in August.
There are events all year at some great venues. Try Oswestry Showground for everything from transport to antiques. Hermon Chapel for an eclectic music mix and the new Holroyd Theatre at Moreton Hall School. There’s the New Saints Football team too. A bit further afield and you can enjoy Shropshire Festivals great events – don’t miss KidsFest or Oktoberfest.
