All Shopping in Oswestry and the Welsh Borderlands

Oswestry Shopping

Buy local – shopping in OswestryBeing a market town you won’t be surprised to know that Oswestry Town is a magnet for shoppers who love browsing independent shops and traditional markets. Friendly too –that’s the difference when you visit a town like Oswestry where most of the businesses are independent. The eclectic mix of shops around the town centre offers everything from vinyl to vintage, sausages to saddlery and everything in between.

Focus on Oswestry on market day and then enjoy wandering along our streets and alleyways. Indoor market on Bailey Head -every Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, Outdoor market -every Wednesday and Saturday,  Artisan market – last Friday of every month. Meet world renowned authors at events at our local bookshop or find out what’s on at the local cook shop and get ready to bring out your inner Mary or Paul.

So, if the welcome, the wandering and the window shopping are as much a part of your day as the buying and the bags that you take home then you’ll enjoy shopping in and around Oswestry.

It isn’t just about Oswestry town though; throughout The Borderlands there are opportunities not only to indulge in retail therapy but also to celebrate local tastes as you visit our local producers. There is even a vineyard – surely worth a trip out?

Take a look at The British Ironworks – a larger than life size scorpion may not be on your shopping list but you are sure to find something perfect for your garden or home.

Antique shops seem to be popping up here every few weeks and Oswestry Show ground regularly hosts a huge Antiques Fair that features quite regularly on TVs Bargain Hunt.
