Covid 19 Update: The waterfall area is experiencing large numbers of visitors at the minute (August 2020) and we suggest that you consider very carefully before travelling there. The access and parking is very limited and there have been problems with social distancing.
Pistyll Rhaeadr is often referred to as one of the Seven Wonders of Wales. The waterfall is formed by the Afon Disgynfa falling in three stages over a 240-foot cliff-face, into the Afon Rhaeadr below. Stunning when frozen or semi-frozen!
It is the highest waterfall in England or Wales with wonderful rock formations. Footpaths up to the top of the waterfall. Parking on site and a few hundred yards before on the edge of the road.
Location: Follow signs from the centre of Llanrhaeadr on the B4396. It is a long single track road with occasional passing places, so take care.
