Family Fun in and around Oswestry

Family fun in and around Oswestry is for the whole family so pack the car, pick up the grandparents and let’s get going.
Get up close and personal with the cutest animals at a national award-winning farm attraction, Park Hall Countryside Experience. Add in The Welsh Guards Museum and the chance to experience a stay in world war trenches and all the family will be entertained.
Any footie fans? The local team play in Wales but their fantastic base is at The Venue on the Shropshire side of the border. Come for a match and stay on for bowling, soft play and a bite to eat.
The British Ironworks is all heavy metal and is a more alternative animal attraction! Go on a wild safari through a jungle of metal animals. Watch out for the dinosaur sized scorpion.
For lots of science discovery, a day at Techniquest Glyndwr at Wrexham will challenge kids and parents too. Don’t miss the live science shows either.
Want a peek into history? There are lots of living history events throughout The Borderlands each summer. Visit Whittington or Chirk Castles or maybe rediscover the joy of the heritage railways at the Cambrian Railway Museum, Welshpool and Llanfair Railway or Llangollen Railway.
At Llangollen, why not book a trip on the horse drawn canal barges? Bywater Cruises at Maesbury have Cracker the horse to pull you along too. Then you could hire bikes and cycle round Ellesmere or Lake Vyrnwy.
For a fantasy and fantastic day, take a family trip to Hawkstone Follies. Explore the grottos and caves and make your own magical world come to life.
