Q Awards Presentations
Pre-Season Launch Congratulations to all those who have achieved their Q Award. Each year Oswestry Borderland Tourism presents Honorary Membership to someone they consider has made a contribution to tourism for Oswestry and the Welsh Borders. This year they are pleased to announce that Mr David Preston, Chief Executive of Oswestry Town Council will receive this award for his outstanding contribution to local tourism.
The Pre Season Launch is held each year in order to acquaint the local tourism industry with new developments, events, attractions. This year guest speakers include representatives from Ironbridge Museums, Park Hall Countryside Experience, Ryton XI Towns Festival to name just a few.
This event was held on Tuesday 18th March was also a chance to present the Quality Awards to its members. The “Q” Awards are a series of training modules from Risk Assessments, Disability awareness to Interior Design and photography. To gain the award members have to take at least 5 modules. This year 16 properties have gained their Q Award with a further half dozen with just 1 module to go before completion. Oswestry Borderland Tourism are pleased that 41 members have embarked on this scheme and considers it a tremendous success. |
