CARTOON FESTIVAL |

| The Festival offers unique opportunitites to see artists at work; 20 of them creating giant cartoons in The Square during the Cartoonists Live weekend, others drawing caricatures and running cartoon workshops for all ages. Cartoon exhibitions of new work by top UK and overseas cartoonists, and the Shrewsbury Smile Trail, featuring cartoons in shops and restaurants around the town, run throughout the Festival period of April and May. The 2012 theme is Flying. |

| Whisky Galore. When a Scottish island falls prey to a whisky shortage, the islanders are desolate. But when by chance a ship is sunk with a cargo of 50,000 cases of whisky, they see their salvation.
