On the edge of Llanymynech village is an old lime processing works(still under construction for viewing). You can see the old bottle limekilns. Close by is the Montgomery Canal where the processed lime was transported. The limestone was quarried from Llanymynech hill, which was connected to the kiln by a tramway. The quarry has marked footpaths & part has been designated a nature reserve. On top of the hill are the ramparts of an ancient hill fort. Offas Dyke also traverses the hill. Open at all times
