Eirlys is the Welsh word for "snowdrop". The narrowboat Eirlys has been a regular sight on the Llangollen canal for over a decade. The Station, Abbey Rd, Llangollen
14 miles from Oswestry Centre
Llangollen Railway is probably the UK’s most scenic railway, running East/West along the River Dee in North Wales from Llangollen Station, located on the North Bank of the Dee just below the famous Llangollen Bridge, up the hill to Llangollen Goods Junction where the connections for the Engine Shed and Carriage Workshop join the main line. Then over the River Bridge on to the South Bank and onwards to Berwyn Station. From Berwyn Station through Berwyn Tunnel to Deeside Halt, then over the level crossing into Glyndyfrdwy Station. Leaving Glyndyfrdwy Station, past the relocated Barmouth Signal Box, past Owain Glyndwr’s Mount and into Carrog Station, the present end of the line.
